In the vast jungle of mattresses and beds on offer, it is not easy to retain an overview and find the product that is best for you. New products are constantly being developed and the familiar, comfortable mattress is no longer available. But which model should you choose?

The unique feature of the Hüsler Nest sleep system is the Liforma spring unit, which adapts to the sleeper regardless of size and weight. Individual adjustments such as shoulder or hip lowering are possible with a simple exchange or removal of the trimelles. Choose the components of your bed

Liforma Original –Liforma DeLuxe – Liforma Designa? Don’t get confused at this point! The Hüsler Nest sleeping system consists of the same four elements in all variants: a frame insert, the unique Liforma spring unit, a natural latex mattress and an overlay. So, it’s really quite simple. Depending on your needs, the elements will be enclosed in one of three different covers, offering either visual or care advantages.

This design offers an extra special nest-like feeling.
All four elements are placed separately in the bed frame.
The mattress is wrapped in a removable and washable cotton cover.
The overlay lies loosely on the mattress and is fixed with elastic ties at the corners.
It can be removed simply and quickly for airing out.

This design offers a compact look and prevents the overlay from slipping.
Frame insert and Liforma spring unit lie separately in the bed frame.
The mattress comes with a two-part cover. The lower part of the cover is made of cotton, the upper part consists of the overlay.
The two parts are connected by a zipper.

Choose your mattress

With the Liforma spring unit, Hüsler Nest offers a system that is unique in terms of ergonomics, support, adaptability, individuality, and hygiene. So, it’s clear that a conventional mattress won’t work for a Hüsler Nest. Our requirements for a mattress are very specific to the profile and properties of the Liforma spring unit.

Our requirements for a mattress

It must harmonise with the dynamics of the Liforma spring unit.
It must be snug and supple.
It must respond to the individual needs of the sleeper in terms of softness / hardness.
It must be durable.
It must be hygienic, without any chemical / antibacterial treatments.
It must meet ecological criteria and be exceptionally sustainable.

Our 2Flex mattresses are made from 100% pure natural latex using the elaborate Talalay process, which gives them a high degree of point elasticity. Side sleepers sink in perfectly with their shoulders and hips, while the rest of the body is supported, and the spine remains in a straight posture. The mattress consists of three layers and has different hardnesses. Hence by turning the mattress over, you can choose between ‘soft’ and ‘medium’.

Available in heights of 10 and 13 cm.

The Honey mattress gets its name from the honeycomb structure. This makes it less point-elastic than the 2Flex mattress, while still offering a uniquely soft consistency with strong resistance. This is particularly advantageous for stomach sleepers, but side sleepers also feel comfortable and at ease. The mattress has different hardnesses. Hence by turning the mattress over you can choose between ‘soft’ and ‘medium’.

Available with a height of 13 cm.

The Firm mattress is the simplest mattress in terms of its structure and construction, as it has neither zones nor sides of different hardness. However, it is made by the same elaborate and high-quality Talalay process. As its name suggests, the Firm mattress feels quite hard, provides support and creates a solid yet comfortable lying sensation. It is very popular with stomach sleepers as its firmness prevents slumping into a hollow back. The Firm is also suitable for conventional slatted frames.

Available with a height of 13 cm.

What does point-elastic mean?

The pressure applied goes vertically downwards. This makes it possible to sink into the mattress with pinpoint accuracy. The 2Flex mattress is very point-elastic, the Honey mattress is less point-elastic.

What does area-elastic mean?

The pressure is distributed flat over the surface, resulting in a firm lying sensation. The Firm mattress is area-elastic.

For an adequate choice of the right mattress, you should understand the difference.

With a point-elastic mattress, the pelvis and shoulders are deeply and vertically immersed in the system. This creates a cosy nest feeling. Due to the deep immersion of the bodily extremities, the support of the Liforma spring unit comes vertically upwards from below. Especially people with a hollow back, or with a pronounced waist or shoulder area, appreciate this feature when sleeping in a side position.

With an area-elastic mattress, on the other hand, the pelvis and shoulders sink much less deeply into the mattress, which dispenses with the strong support to the back. People who often sleep in the prone position are familiar with the feeling of having a hollow back. The reason for this is that the centre of gravity in the pelvis sinks too low, and the sleeper thus ‘falls’ into a hollow back posture. This does not happen with an area-elastic mattress. You lie straight even in the prone position.

Choose your overlay

Our overlays ensure that you keep your skin feeling dry all night long. They quickly wick away any moisture resulting from perspiration. So, you can sleep through the night without fear of being woken by the cold. A natural hair duvet rounds off the nest feeling.

Mattress decision support

We recommend the Honey 13 cm natural latex mattress.

We recommend the natural latex mattress Honey or Firm 13 cm.

We recommend the natural latex mattress 2Flex or Honey 13 cm, if necessary supplemented with a 3 cm high topper. In addition, we would definitely recommend the use of the Duo / Medium sheep’s wool overlay, as wool has a pain-relieving effect.

The choice of mattress is less important here. Both the 13 cm 2Flex mattress and the 13 cm Honey mattress have integrated shoulder relief. Alternatively, there is the ‘shoulder lowering’ special setting on the Liforma spring element.

Model 2Flex, 10 or 13 cm depending on age and athleticism, or Honey 13 cm. Possibly with a special ‘hip lowering’ setting on the Liforma spring unit.

We recommend the 2Flex 10 cm model, if you are under 50, or the Honey 13 cm model.

You are sporty and have good back muscles. We recommend the natural latex mattress 2Flex 10 cm.

Make sure you have good cushioning in the mattress. We recommend a 13 cm version of the natural latex mattresses 2Flex, Honey or Firm.

The majority of them sleep on their stomachs for at least half the night. We recommend the natural latex mattress Honey 13 cm or Firm 13 cm.
