Do you know the feeling? In the evening, you drag yourself to bed, half asleep, half annoyed by the day, and your bed is pleasant enough. But in the morning – as soon as the alarm clock goes off – this place to sleep transforms into an oasis of cosiness. Suddenly, the mattress feels like a cloud, the duvet is at the perfect temperature, and the pillow? Utter perfection. Why, why, why?
1. Your body knows what is good for it.
After a night in your Hüsler Nest – or any other high-quality bed – your body has found the relaxation it needed. The mattress has moulded perfectly to you, your body is recharged, and now it naturally wants to stay right where it is. It's as if it were saying: ‘Hey, it's perfect here, why get up?’
2. Your brain plays tricks on you
When the alarm goes off in the morning, your brain is still half asleep. Everything related to work, school or the household suddenly seems much more exhausting than it really is. By contrast, your bed feels like the only safe haven in a world full of tasks. That, by the way, is why the snooze button was invented (and why we sometimes press it a bit too often).
The best for snuggling up in
3. The comfort of not having to do anything
In the morning, while you are still lying in bed, the outside world has no real access to you yet. There is this brief moment when you can just be – snuggled up in your blanket castle, which gives you support and a sense of security. In the evening, on the other hand, you know that you have to get up tomorrow. Unfortunately, the thought of getting up early takes a bit of the magic out of your bed.
4. Body heat makes all the difference
During the night, your body warms the bed to exactly the temperature that is most comfortable for you. In the evening, however, the bed is often still cool and you have to ‘preheat’ it a bit before it gets cosy. In the morning, you don't want to give up this perfectly warm nest so easily.
5. A bed with personality!
We in the Hüsler Nest community know that a good bed is more than just a place to sleep. It is a place where body and mind come to rest, where you can recharge your batteries and feel secure. Perhaps the magic is also due to the fact that your Hüsler Nest is like a trusted friend who just wants to hold on to you a little longer in the morning.
What have we learnt from this?
Next time your bed doesn't want to let go in the morning, take it as a compliment. It has done its job perfectly and wants to protect you from the world out there just a little bit longer. Perhaps it's worth staying a few minutes longer in the evening and consciously thanking your bed – before morning gains the upper hand again.
On that note: Good night and a wonderful morning – no matter how long it lasts!
